It has been so many years in the making, and now it is real and happening! Rockville Root Cause has launched and we couldn't be happier.
On Sunday, September 22, 2019, we held our first community harvest dinner, featuring local produce from our gardens and from farms all over South County. The weather was perfect, the food was good, and the company was delightful.
We used the tables, chairs, and dishes that were once used for church suppers at the parish house. There were flowers from neighbors' gardens and so much great conversation between community members.
This is what we want our village to look like!
As dusk fell, there was a presentation projected on the side of the church, showing the history of the church, the opportunities in our neighborhood, and our plans.
The gardens are almost ready to hunker down for winter, but the people are just getting started. There are funds to be raised and plans to be made. We are going to start strong in the spring, and we'd love you to join us! Let's make the harvest dinner a yearly tradition!
